SoulPancake’s “Impress Me” picked up by Pop

SoulPancake’s web series “The Impression Guys”, which Angela guest starred in, was recently picked up to air on Pop, the cable network previously known as TV Guide Network:

Pop is adding to its scripted comedy menu by ordering new episodes of the YouTube series “Impress Me,” from Rainn Wilson’s SoulPancake banner.

Series created by Ben Shelton stars celebrity impressionists Ross Marquand and Jim Meskimen, who are struggling to transform themselves into dramatic actors. Guest shots in the episodes include Angela Kinsey, Erika Christiansen, Josh Groban, Matt Jones and Weird Al Yankovic.

Pop has picked up six episodes that already aired on Wilson’s SoulPancake YouTube channel, and it has ordered seven more installments. “Impress Me” will bow March 18 in the 10:30 p.m. slot behind Pop’s other new comedy, “Schitt’s Creek.”

Pop prexy Brad Schwartz said “Impress Me” was a good fit with the cable network’s new spin on pop culture-centric programming as it “captures the spirit of celebrity fandom with a ton of heart.”

“This show is about more than two talented celebrity impressionists. It’s about how hard (and hilarious) it can be to follow your heart, even when the cards are stacked against you,” Wilson said. “SoulPancake birthed this baby online, and Pop’s savvy creative team is bold enough to bring it to TV.”

Angela To Star In ABC Comedy Pilot ‘The 46 Percenters’

From Deadline.com:

‘The Office’ alumna Angela Kinsey is set as a lead in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot ‘The 46 Percenters’. The casting stems from Kinsey’s collaboration with ABC earlier this development season on a buddy comedy project, which she co-wrote and was attached to star in. ‘The 46 Percenters’ is described as an unromantic romantic comedy about the 46% of the population who choose to stay married as told through the POV of three couples. Kinsey will play half of one of the couples, Marni, a wife and mother. Kinsey, repped by UTA, Link and Felker Toczek, will recur on TBS’ new comedy series ‘Your Family Or Mine’.

Angela lands recurring role on ‘Bad Judge’

From Entertainment Weekly:

The Office’s Angela Kinsey is returning to NBC on its new upcoming series Bad Judge.

The comedy stars Kate Walsh as the sexually unapologetic, well-respected judge Rebecca, whose personal life is often messier than the criminals she sentences.

Kinsey will play the recurring role of Michelle Wagoner, Rebecca’s old pal from childhood, who is recently divorced and looks for help to regain some happiness and make up for the lost time she spent with her loser ex. Michelle and Rebecca are the Thelma and Louise of the San Fernando Valley. (As she never saw the ending of the movie, she continues to think it’s a buddy comedy.) Michelle—who works as a dental hygienist but lacks the same career ambition as Rebecca—will be a good sounding board for her friend, as well as a mischievous partner in crime.

Lately, Kinsey has been in high demand. The actress is set to topline and co-create a buddy comedy for ABC, and also recur on TBS comedy Your Family or Mine, in addition to her role on Hulu’s Hotwives of Orlando.

Bad Judge premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

Actors Michael Ian Black and Angela Kinsey joined The Couch to tell us more about the Second Annual Friskies Award Show.

On Tuesday, Michael is hosting “The Friskies,” the major award for the best cat videos of the year, and Angela is presenting Grumpy Cat with her first Lifetime Achievement Award.

Angela to guest star in ‘Hot in Cleveland’

…“The Office” alum Angela Kinsey and New Girl” star Max Greenfield will guest star on the upcoming fifth season of TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” which began production this week, the cable network said Monday.

“Cheers” alum Kirstie Alley, who stars in TV Land’s sitcom “Kirstie,” will also guest on the upcoming season, which will include the show’s 100th episode and is slated to premiere in spring 2014.

Greenfield will play a charming con man who poses as a pet adoption consultant, while Kinsey will portray an admissions counselor for a pre-school that Joy (played by “HiC” star Jane Leeves) wants her grandson Wilbur to attend. Alley will play Broadway star Maddie Banks, her character from “Kirstie,” in a crossover appearance.

The fifth season will also see the return of guest stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Craig Ferguson, John Mahoney, Michael McMilian, Jay Harrington, Dave Foley and Georgia Engel.

“100 episodes is a huge accomplishment for any TV show,” TV Land president Larry W. Jones said. “We’re so proud of the cast and crew, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic season with new twists and turns in every episode.”

The TV Land series, which in addition to Leeves stars Valerie Bertinelli, Betty White and Wendie Malick, has become known for its guest stars, such as the recent reunion of the female cast of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” for an episode that premiered Sept 4.

Angela to appear in ‘New Girl’

‘New Girl’ exclusive: Angela Kinsey and Eva Amurri to Mess with Jess and Schmidt

Angela Kinsey and Eva Amurri will be stirring up trouble on New Girl this year!

The Office alum and the Californication actress will both pop up in the second episode of Season 3 to spar with Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield), TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Kinsey will play Rose, a snobbish “cool” teacher whom Jess meets at the school where she landed the substitute teacher gig last season. Rose is turned off by Jess’ diligence and goody-two-shoes approach to her job.

“She’s struggling with the politics,” executive producer Liz Meriwether says of Jess’ new job. “At the school, there’s some mean girl teachers that don’t like her there, and she’s trying to find her place at the new school and see if she can turn it into a permanent position.”

Meanwhile, Amurri will reprise her role as Schmidt’s competitive co-worker Beth, who will cause trouble in his love life. Don’t worry, they’re not turning this into a love quadrangle. The third season will pick up moments after Schmidt ran away from both Cece (Hannah Simone) and Elizabeth (Merritt Wever), who will be back for an arc this season. But don’t assume that just because Elizabeth is only sticking around for a few episodes, Schmidt ultimately picks Cece.

“It’s a little more complicated than that,” Meriwether says. “It’s a choice that he’s still struggling with in the premiere. He genuinely cares about both women and he’s just so confused about what to do. He’s forced to take desperate measures to figure it out. He potentially does some things that are not good.” We hear those things may include juggling both women, which Beth schemes to expose when she pops back up.

New Girl returns Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 9/8c on Fox.
