About LIDE Haiti:

Lidè is an educational initiative in rural Haiti that uses the arts and literacy to empower at-risk adolescent girls and help them transition into school or vocational training.  Established by Author Holiday Reinhorn, Actor Rainn Wilson and Executive Director Dr. Kathryn Adams in response to the devastating earthquake of 2010, the Lidè program seeks to uplift women and girls who have been denied equal access to education. Lidè trains and employs Haitian teachers and collaborates with grassroots schools and programs, such as “Smallholder Farmers Alliance”, “Fonkozé”, and “H.E.L.P.” In Lidè programs participants gain life and leadership skills and helps foster the community support they need to begin their educational journey.

The PSA can be viewed on Tidy Cats’ YouTube channel.

“Stank Face is a horrible condition from which no cat owner, their friends nor family should have to suffer,” said Kinsey. “As a cat-lover and an actress, I know the value of having a stank-free litter box, as well as the importance of having control over my face. Angela joins cast of Miranda Sings’ “Haters Back Off”

From Deadline:

Meet Miranda Sing’s mother and uncle. The Office alumna Angela Kinsey and Steve Little (The Grinder) are set to co-star opposite Colleen Ballinger-Evans in the YouTube personality’s eight-episode Netflix half-hour comedy series Haters Back Off, from The Firm. Based on actress-comedian-singer Ballinger-Evans’s most popular characters, Miranda Sings, Haters Back Off delves into the oddball family life of Miranda Sings (Ballinger-Evans), an incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise who continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous, it’s just no one knows it yet. Kinsey will play Miranda’s mother, Bethany; Little will play Miranda’s uncle, Jim. Both characters had been referenced by Miranda on YouTube for years but never seen. The way Bethany dotes on her daughter helps explain Miranda’s peculiar behavior; while Miranda has suggested that she and her uncle have a unique relationship…

Hamburger Hummus

From Entertainment Weekly:

Shalom, Shamericans! Introducing Hamburger Hummus, a new web series directed by Jay Karas (Workaholics) that satirizes blogging culture and pokes fun at clueless Americans embarrassing themselves in foreign countries.

“Six Americans in Israel; one holy s—show,” the trailer teases. Jillian Bell, Betsy Newman, Paul Welsh, Angela Kinsey, Peter Gardner, and Marque Richardson star as culturally oblivious American bloggers visiting Tel Aviv for a conference. The pilot introduces them with the telling epithets, “The Hot Mess,” “The Teenage Crusader,” “The Techie,” and the trio of “The Mommy Blogger,” “The Paranoid Dad,” and “Their Baby.”

“Their interests across technology, beauty, environmentalism, and shameless one-night stands lead to a bounty of Clark Griswold-like, fish-out-of-water moments,” the series description reads, and episode titles like “Tech Aviv,” “#BlessedDayEver,” and the pilot, “Shalom Shamericans,” deliver on that promise. – Source

Angela To Star In ABC Comedy Pilot ‘The 46 Percenters’

From Deadline.com:

‘The Office’ alumna Angela Kinsey is set as a lead in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot ‘The 46 Percenters’. The casting stems from Kinsey’s collaboration with ABC earlier this development season on a buddy comedy project, which she co-wrote and was attached to star in. ‘The 46 Percenters’ is described as an unromantic romantic comedy about the 46% of the population who choose to stay married as told through the POV of three couples. Kinsey will play half of one of the couples, Marni, a wife and mother. Kinsey, repped by UTA, Link and Felker Toczek, will recur on TBS’ new comedy series ‘Your Family Or Mine’.

Angela joins campaign to help feral cats

Press release:

Alley Cat Allies, the national advocate for stray and feral cats, today launched a print Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign featuring Angela Kinsey, star of the NBC comedy “The Office.”

In the ad, Kinsey declares herself an “Alley Cat Ally,” and a supporter of Alley Cat Allies’ major campaign to raise awareness about the millions of Americans who care for stray and feral cats in their communities.

“We are delighted to have Angela Kinsey on board to represent the individuals from all walks of life who share compassion for these cats,” said Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies, the recognized authority on feral cats and Trap-Neuter-Return.

“Kinsey’s character on The Office, Angela, exemplifies a stereotype sometimes associated with cat lovers,” said Robinson. “But the truth is millions of Americans have opened their hearts and wallets to stray and feral cats.”

A national survey by the respected research organization Harris Interactive found that over 40 percent of Americans have fed a stray cat in their lives, and one out of five has done so in the past year.

Feral cats are the same species as domestic cats, but they are not socialized to people and prefer to live in family groups called colonies. Because they are not adoptable, they are almost always killed in animal shelters.

Robinson noted that many progressive communities across the country have adopted a lifesaving program called Trap-Neuter-Return, in which feral cats are humanely trapped, brought to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated and returned to their outdoor home. Trap-Neuter-Return is the best course of action for feral cats because it ends the breeding cycle, stabilizes populations and improves the cats’ health, Robinson said.
